Salmonella Enteric Fever

Salmonella Enteric Fever General Information

Salmonella defines a family of rod-shaped pathogens that have been identified to actually be gram-negative enterobacteria. The presence of these clinical pathogens is known to be responsible for the development of paratyphoid fever, typhoid fever, and other clinical food borne illnesses. Studies have shown that most species of this gram-negative bacterium are motile and are able to produce hydrogen sulfide.

Paratyphoid fever and typhoid fever are two medical disorders that are commonly known under the generic name of “Enteric Fever”. The cause of these medical illnesses is the presence of Salmonella paratyphi and that of Salmonella typhi (two species of gram-negative bacteria that belong to the class of Salmonellas). For this reason, another common clinical phrase that defines these medical disorders is “Salmonella Enteric Fever”. If the patient who is suffering from this clinical disorder does not receive an adequate therapy for it, he has 10% chance of developing the severe (life-threatening) clinical manifestations of this medical disorder. The presence of this clinical illness is known to generally last for about a month if the patient is not treated for his or her medical condition.

Salmonella Enteric Fever is a common medical disorder that affects the patient’s gastrointestinal system. The presence of this clinical condition is known to generally be spotted especially in the developing regions of the world. Scientists have agreed that this medical disorder is actually an infectious clinical illness that may be seen as a type of food poisoning. Although common, the confusion between typhoid fever and typhus is wrong. For further information regarding this medical disorder, your risk of developing, any potential racial preferences, and so on, you should seek the professional advice of your health care provider.

Salmonella Enteric Fever Symptoms

Like most other clinical illnesses, the presence of this infectious medical condition (commonly referred to as Salmonella Enteric Fever) leads to the development of a set of widely known clinical manifestations that enable a well trained health care professional set an appropriate diagnosis of the patient’s condition. However, the presence of this clinical condition is known to trigger a wide variety of clinical symptoms that differ from one clinical case to another, depending on the patient’s age, sex, general health condition, stage of the disorder, and so on. The severity of the symptoms is also known to vary from one clinical case to another (from one patient to another).

In some cases, the presence of this clinical condition (Salmonella Enteric Fever) has been reported to be asymptomatic. In other words, the individual who has been diagnosed with the presence of this disorder is suffering from a very mild form of this infectious disease. He or she is merely a carrier of the typhoid fever. However, most clinical cases who have been diagnosed with the presence of this infectious clinical disorder present clinical manifestations such as the following: high fever, headaches, malaise, constipation, sore throat, chills, abdominal pain, mild vomiting, mild nausea, myalgia, tenderness that is located in the abdominal area, rose spots that are present on the patient’s skin, especially on his or her chest or on his or her abdominal area (this clinical manifestation of Salmonella Enteric Fever is commonly known as “transient skin rash”), and so on. However, this list of possible symptoms that may be associated with the presence of this condition is not complete. If you are in need of further detailed information regarding this clinical matter, we advise you to seek the professional assistance of your doctor.

Salmonella Enteric Fever Treatment

Early diagnosis and early therapy against this medical disorder are known to increase the patient’s chances of experiencing a fast and full recovery from his or her medical condition. Most scientists agree that the most effective therapy option against this type of infectious clinical illness is medication treatment. The intake of antibiotics has granted individuals who have been diagnosed with this disorder (Salmonella Enteric Fever) various beneficial results. In this chapter, we intend to describe you some of the most common medical products that are employed in the fight against this infectious disorder.

For example, most individuals who have been recently diagnosed with the presence of this disease (Salmonella Enteric Fever) are immediately prescribed to start using Quinolones. The most common medical products that are known to belong to this class of medicines include Ciprofloxacin (Cipro, both in its oral or IV form), Ofloxacin (Floxin), Lomefloxacin (Maxaquin), Norfloxacin (Noroxin), and so on. Ciprofloxacin is the generic name of most medicines that are employed in various types of therapy trials against this clinical condition. Such medicines are known to be effective antibiotics that are able to support the organism’s immune system in fighting against unwanted pathogens, especially bacteria. The intake of such a medication is quite helpful for individuals who are suffering from Salmonella Enteric Fever as it aims to stop the bacterium’s production of essential proteins (which it needs in order to survive). However, a therapy with this medicine can also be employed in other types of bacterial infectious diseases. Furthermore, the intake of this drug may also be employed in order to slow the development of anthrax or to prevent the patient from developing this severe disorder if he or she has been exposed to this disease’s pathogen.

A dose of this medicine should not be accompanied by any type of dairy products (including calcium fortified beverages, yogurt, milk, and so on) as this may diminish the effectiveness of your dose of this medical product. You must not stop your intake of this drug even if your symptoms (caused by Salmonella Enteric Fever) have disappeared; only your physician is able to tell whether you are indeed cured of your clinical disorder. Certain medical products should be taken in at least 6 hours before and / or two hours after your dose of this drug. Among the most common medicines that belong to this category are: mineral and / or vitamin supplements (over the counter / non-prescription drugs) of zinc, iron or calcium, antacids that contain aluminum, calcium or magnesium (Rolaids, Tums, and so on), sucralfate (Carafate), didanosine (Videx), and so on.

By Tracy S. (Oregon, United States)
  Customer since 5/7/2008 - (1 orders)
  Ordered from East Indian Pharmacy
  Ordered Cipro

Buying from here saved me alot of money, paying for my prescription at local pharmacies is so much more expensive. And not needing a prescription and no limit on quantity make it much easier and affordable. The service was great, staff is very helpfull. Shipping only took about a week, maybe 2. Package came undamaged, no tampering. The product was as good as if I had purchased from my local pharmacy.

  Customer since 8/5/2005 - (10 orders)

  Ordered Cipro

It seemed it took a much longer time to get this order than any of my other orders. I really need my medicine to get to me faster this time because of an infection. So I was a little frustrated I did not get it sooner.
