Tetralysal Information

Tetralysal is an antibiotic medicine, based on the active substance Lymecycline of the tetracyclines class of drugs. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic, and thus effective in the treatment of infections caused by a variety of bacterial organisms. This medicine acts by inhibiting the protein production in the bacterial organisms, therefore hindering their growth and replication; the bacteria are no longer able to reproduce and eventually die, or are destroyed by the patient’s immune system.

Tetralysal Indications

Tetralysal may be successfully employed in the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections, from acne vulgaris and dental infections to chronic bronchitis, leptospirosis (Weil’s Disease), brucellosis, genital and urinary tract infections, Lyme disease or infections that are caused by Rickettsiae agents (those transmitted by fleas, lice, mites and ticks). Tetralysal Warnings

Tetralysal may not be used for the treatment of children under 12 years of age, and is not appropriate for the treatment of pregnant or breast feeding patients. Tetralysal Intake Guidelines

It is best that you take the Tetralysal doses exactly as specified by the prescriber, in order to obtain the most beneficial results from the therapy. If you are not sure regarding any of the intake directions, if you have forgotten any of them or if you otherwise have trouble remembering what to do, it is suggested that you check again with your prescriber or with your pharmacist, as they are able to provide additional assistance. You should continue taking Tetralysal for the full duration of the therapy; although you may experience an improvement in your health condition and a withdrawal of the symptoms within a few days from the start of the therapy, you will need to continue taking this medicine for the full prescribed duration. Tetralysal Dosage

Your prescriber will inform you regarding the Tetralysal dosage, number of daily intakes and therapy duration at the beginning of your treatment course. As such, the medicine dosage that has been prescribed to another patient may not be suitable in your case.

Tetralysal Overdose

Tetralysal Missed Dose

Tetralysal Side Effects

Tetralysal may cause a number of unwanted side effects, some of which are mild and go away within a few days (these are caused by the organism adjusting to the medication) while others may become persistent and bothersome. It is recommended that you contact your personal physician as soon as you notice any unexpected symptoms. Side effects of this medicine may include headache, diarrhea, rashes, vision disturbances, colitis, pancreatitis, nausea, vomiting, photosensitivity and even severe complications such as permanent liver damage.

Tetralysal Drug Reactions

Tetralysal may interact with several drugs and medicines, including Quinapril, Kaolin, antacids, calcium and calcium-based products, iron, zinc and magnesium salts, ulcer medication, oral contraceptives, blood thinners and diuretics. Simultaneous usage of Tetralysal and penicillins is not recommended. Avoid taking this medicine if you are also taking Tretinoin, Acitretin or Isotretinoin.
