DYNACIRC (Isradipine)

Dynacirc Information

Dynacirc is a drug with a generic name isradipine, which is in a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. Dynacirc relaxes the blood vessels for the heart to pump and reduce its workload.

Dynacirc Indications

Dynacirc is indicated for the treatment of hypertension or high blood pressure.

Dynacirc may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Dynacirc Warnings

Before taking Dynacirc, tell your doctor if you experience any of the following:

narrowing of esophagus
narrowing of stomach
narrowing of intestinal tract
kidney disease
liver disease
coronary heart disease
congestive heart failure
low blood pressure

You may not be able to take Dynacirc, or you may require an adjustment of your dose of DYNACIRC or have a special monitoring device. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist for more information about DYNACIRC.

Dynacirc is in the FDA pregnancy category C, which means that it is not known whether Dynacirc will harm an unborn baby. if you are pregnant or planning to be pregnant, do not take DYNACIRC without first talking to your doctor.

It is also not known whether Dynacirc passes into breast milk. If you are breast-feeding an infant, do not take DYNACIRC without first talking to your doctor.

Dynacirc Intake Guidelines

The extended release form of Dynacirc should be swallowed whole. DYNACIRC should not be broken, crushed or chewed before swallowing.

Each dose of DYNACIRC can be taken with a full glass of water.

Do not be concerned if you notice a tablet-like in your stool. This is an empty tablet shell of Dynacirc, which has been absorbed by the body and is passed out in the stool.

Do not stop taking Dynacirc suddenly if you feel better. Doing such may cause your condition to worsen.

Dynacirc Dosage

Take Dynacirc exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.

Dynacirc Overdose

Seek immediate medical attention if you suspect an overdose of Dynacirc.

Symptoms of an overdose of Dynacirc include:

dizziness
weakness
chest pain
shortness of breath
fainting
unusually fast or slow heartbeat
coma
slurred speech
confusion

Dynacirc Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Dynacirc as soon as possible. However, skip the missed dose and take only the next regularly scheduled dose of DYNACIRC if it is almost time for the next dose. A double dose of DYNACIRC must not be taken.

Dynacirc Side Effects

Stop taking Dynacirc and call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention if symptoms of a Dynacirc side effect occur.

Symptoms of a Dynacirc side effect include the following:

difficulty breathing
closing of the throat
swelling of the lips
swelling of the tongue
swelling of the face
hives
an unusually fast or slow heartbeat
fainting
severe dizziness
abnormal behavior
psychosis
chest pain
yellowing of the skin or eyes
swelling of the legs
swelling of the ankles

Other less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue taking Dynacirc and talk to your doctor if you experience any of the following:

unusual headache
fatigue
tiredness
mild dizziness
nausea
vomiting
diarrhea
flushing
rash

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur with DYNACIRC. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially disturbing.

Dynacirc Drug Reactions

Talk to your doctor if you are taking any heart medicines. Such medicines may have additive affects.

Drugs and other medicines other than those listed here may also interact with Dynacirc. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines.
