It enhances liver and gall bladder functioning and may decrease high blood pressure due to its diuretic properties.

Foeniculum vulgare (Fennel): fennel has been used since ancient times as an appetite suppressant and was traditionally used to prevent 'growling stomachs' during church services. Apart from its diuretic properties, Fennel also promotes the functioning of the liver, kidneys and spleen and is useful for acidic stomachs.

Pelargonium reniforme : is a medicinal plant known to generations of Khoi/San descendants and Xhosa traditional healers for its health-giving properties. Also known as 'Umckaloabo', it is traditionally used for a range of therapeutic functions and is well known for its beneficial effect on liver functioning and as a digestive tonic. This species of pelargonium is indigenous to the Eastern Cape of South Africa and grows wild, sending out long bulbous roots deep into the ground. The medicinally active ingredients are found in the bitter tasting root of the plant.

Caution: Fennel and Dandelion should not be used in conjunction with any other diuretic medication such as Lasix or hydro-chlorothiazide. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Use with caution if suffering from gallstones or estrogen-dependent cancer.

How old must the child be to use MindSoothe Jr. For Child Depression?

MindSoothe Jr. can safely be used by children from about the age of 6. Children younger than 6 can also use MindSoothe but should be supervised by a health care practitioner.

Do not use MindSoothe Jr. together with other prescription anti-depressants. If your child is very fair in complexion, use a sun block if there is excessive exposure to sun as St John's Wort can sometimes increase the skin's sensitivity to sunburn.

How quickly will MindSoothe Jr. For Child Depression work?

MindSoothe Jr. contains two different ingredients, which act in different ways.

The Passiflora takes effect very quickly, especially when presented in tincture form. You should notice that your child is calmer, less irritable and less easily frustrated.

St John's Wort works by preventing the over-metabolism of serotonin and the effect is gradual, taking 3 - 5 weeks to reach its full potential. Within this period you should notice a gradual improvement in mood and behavior, as well as concentration.

It is important that MindSoothe Jr. be used regularly as recommended. Continue use for about 6 months and then gradually taper off over a period of about 3 weeks. If symptoms do not return it will not be necessary to continue treatment.
