Melleril Information

Melleril is a medicine that is also widely known under its generic name Aldazine. This drug is also called Largactil. This medicine is known to belong to a large class of drugs known as phenothiazine antipsychotics. This drug is an effective tranquilizer that is able to block the brain’s main receptors (most of all, the dopamine receptors that are transmitting signals between the other brain cells).

Melleril Indications

Melleril is a medicine that is regularly prescribed in the case of patients whose organisms are producing much more dopamine receptors than necessary, thus causing the alteration of the natural human behavior (this regularly leads to various types of psychotic disorders). This medicine can also be prescribed to patients who are suffering from schizophrenia (this regularly occurs when all other treatments for this particular disorder have proved inefficient). Melleril Warnings

A treatment with Melleril is known to sometimes cause unpleasant drowsiness. Therefore, while you are taking this medicine you should avoid consuming alcoholic beverages or any other products that are known to contain alcohol. While you are being treated with this drug you should avoid performing any activities that are known to require physical and mental alertness such as driving or performing complicated machinery, in order to avoid dangerous accidents.

A treatment with Melleril is regularly not recommended in the case of patients who are known to suffer from the following medical conditions:

• Epilepsy
• Unusual muscle weakness and fatigue 
• Close angle glaucoma
• Chronic constipation
• Enlarged prostate
• Urinary Retention
• Hypothyroidism
• Eye pressure
• Liver problems
• Kidney problems
• Parkinson’s disease
• Abnormally low or high body weight
• Blocked lung passage
• Postural hypotension
• Adrenal gland tumor of the adrenal gland

Melleril must never be prescribed to patent who have any of these medical disorders:

• Dementia
• Abnormal heart rate
• Cytochrome deficiency
• Bone marrow disease
• Stroke
• Any type of heart disease such as angina
• Hypokalaemia
• Comatose
• Photosensitivity

This medicine should not be prescribed to children without a pediatrician’s consent. If you are pregnant, or if you are planning to become pregnant any time soon, you should ask your personal healthcare provider if it is safe to start taking Melleril. It has not been determined whether this drug’s main ingredients are able to pass into the patient’s breast milk.
