Soriatane is a category X FDA pregnancy medicine. Therefore, a treatment with this medicine during pregnancy is known to severely harm a growing fetus. If you are pregnant, or if there is a possibility that you might become pregnant soon, you are not allowed to start taking Soriatane. During your treatment with this medicine you should consider using an effective contraceptive method. It has not been clearly determined whether this medicine’s ingredients are able to pass into breast milk or not. Soriatane Intake Guidelines

Your personal health care provider will tell you the proper way in which you will be administered Soriatane. A dose of Soriatane should be accompanied by a full glass of liquid (water and / or juice). You should take your doses of this medical product with food, or at least with milk. At the beginning of your intake of Soriatane, your average psoriasis symptoms might seem to worsen. However, they should improve after a few weeks of treatment. Do not stop using this medicine without your physician’s approval, as this could trigger severe side effects. You should ask your personal physician where to keep your pack of Soriatane. It is best if you store it in a place that is far from the reach of children and pets in order to avoid unpleasant or dangerous accidents.

If you suspect that you might be suffering from an overdose with Soriatane (if you think you have taken a much higher dose than the one that you have been prescribed to use) you should seek medical care as soon as possible. Alert your personal physician at once. Contact your local poison control centre and go to the nearest emergency room as soon as possible. An overdose with this medicine will probably worsen this product’s regular side effects, triggering vomiting and / or nausea.

You should immediately stop taking Soriatane and alert your personal health care specialist at once if you happen to experience any of these severe side effects:

• symptoms of an allergic reaction (hives; closing of the throat; difficulty breathing; swelling of the tongue, lips, or face);
• symptoms of blood clot, heart attack, or stroke such as trouble speaking, nausea, shortness of breath, dizziness, weakness, chest pain, or swollen leg;
• symptoms of liver disorders such as yellowing of the eyes or of the skin, dark urine, abdominal pain, decreased appetite, vomiting or nausea;
• changes in vision, decreased vision or blurred vision;
• depression, suicidal thoughts.

Intake of Soriatane could also trigger a series of other, less severe, but much more likely to affect a patient, side effects such as:

• dryness, inflammation, or cracking of the lips;
• itching;
• scaly skin;
• dryness of the mouth, eyes, or nose;
• peeling skin (especially palms, fingertips, and soles);
• increased skin sensitivity to direct sunlight;
• loss of hair.

Soriatane Drug Reactions

Before a patient is allowed to start to follow a treatment with Soriatane he or she should alert their personal health care provider if they have recently used any of these drugs:

• a diabetes drug like glipizide (Glucotrol), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), tolbutamide (Orinase), glyburide (Micronase, Diabeta), tolazamide (Tolinase), and others;
• Nor-Q.D., Micronor, Ovrette;
• methotrexate (Rheumatrex);
• etretinate (Tegison);
• antibiotics like tetracycline (Achromycin V, Sumycin), doxycycline (Vibra-Tabs, Vibramycin, Doryx), minocycline (Minocin);
• fosphenytoin (Cerebyx), phenytoin (Dilantin, Phenytek);
• St. John's wort
