Tamiflu Information

Tamiflu Missed Dose

It is recommended that the patient should not miss any of their Tamiflu doses. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible, provided that it is not time for the next Tamiflu dose. You must not take a double dose of Tamiflu, or two doses of the drug separated by less than two hours from one another.

Tamiflu Side Effects

A Tamiflu treatment can result in several side effects such as:

• Phlegm production
• Cough
• Wheezing
• Vomiting
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Stomach upsets
• Stomach cramps
• Nosebleed (this occurs most commonly in the case of children)
• Eye itching
• Eye redness
• Eye swelling and sometimes an excessive tear production
• Skin flushing
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Insomnia
• Dizziness

The patient could experience other side effects of Tamiflu (if they are bothersome or intolerable the patient should stop their Tamiflu treatment and ask for their doctor’s advice regarding the issues).

Tamiflu Drug Reactions

You must inform your physician if you are taking any other drugs besides Oseltamivir (regardless either they are prescription or non-prescription medicines). Tamiflu normally reacts with other drugs that contain Probenecid among their ingredients. The combination of Tamiflu with these other drugs that contain Probenecid normally results in higher blood levels.
