You are not allowed to open the Temodar capsule. Do not use a broken capsule of this medicine. The content of the capsule (a sort of powder) is known to trigger severe effects if it is inhaled or if it comes into direct contact with your mouth, eyes, nose or skin. You should ask a pharmacist to tell you how you can safely handle a broken capsule of this medicine.

Temodar is a category D FDA pregnancy drug. Therefore, intake of this medicine during pregnancy could result in severe birth complications and / or birth defects. You might not be allowed to start using this medicine if you are pregnant (ask your doctor if you may). During your treatment with this medicine you should use an effective birth control method in order to avoid becoming pregnant while using Temodar. It has not been clearly determined whether this medicine’s main components are able to pass into the female patient’s breast milk or not. Patients who are currently nursing an infant must not start using this drug without their physician’s approval. Consult with a pediatrician before giving this medicine to a child. It is known that elderly patients and children might be more prone to developing this drug’s severe side effects.

Temodar Intake Guidelines

Ask your personal health care specialist to give you a set of precise instructions regarding your future intake of Temodar. Do not deviate from any of your personal physician’s directions. A capsule of Temodar should be taken in as a whole (try swallowing it with a full glass of liquid). Even if you vomit immediately after using a dose of this medicine you must not take another one. Wait until your next prescribed dose. In order to check to see whether a treatment with this medicine is causing severe effects, you will have to perform medical blood exams on a regular basis. Avoid missing any of your scheduled appointments with your personal health care provider. Try to take your doses of Temodar at regular time intervals. This drug should be stored at the average room temperature, away from heat, moisture and direct sunlight. It is best to keep it in a location that cannot be easily reached by either pets or children (in order to avoid unpleasant and potentially severe accidents such as poisoning). Do not keep this drug in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink. Ask a pharmacist to tell you how to properly dispose of any unused medication.
