Optiray is an iodine-based product that is used as an X-ray contrast medium. This substance is injected intravenously, and once injected it spreads throughout the body through the bloodstream. In very rare cases, Optiray may cause more serious side effects. Headaches, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, tremors, low blood pressure, anxiety, drowsiness and convulsions are some of the rarer side effects that may be caused by this substance, and they should immediately be brought to the attention of a health care professional.
