D-Zol Warnings

D-Zol should not be used in patients that have a known hypersensitivity to Danazol or any of the other ingredients of this medicinal product. Patients that have experienced jaundice while taking birth control pills should not follow a therapy course with this medicine.

D-Zol should not be administered to patients who are suffering from, or who have a medical history of: severe heart, kidney or liver disease, severe hypertension, pelvic infections, deep vein thrombosis or any other blood clot related disorders, porphyria, abnormal genital bleeding of unknown cause, several types of cancer (including cancer of the womb, cervix, ovary, breast or prostate) or to patients that present masses or lumps in the womb or ovaries for which the cause is not known.

Before starting a therapy course with D-Zol, it is best to inform your prescriber if you have ever had or if you are currently suffering from diabetes, kidney or liver disease, epilepsy or other seizure disorder, polycythemia, heart disorders, hypertension or migraine. You should also inform the prescriber if you have ever suffered from side effects such as deepening of the voice or abnormal hair growth while following a therapy course with birth control pills or other types of sex hormones.

D-Zol Intake Guidelines

Your prescriber will provide you with a set of guidelines regarding your D-Zol therapy. It is best to closely follow the health care provider’s indications closely in order to achieve the best therapeutic effects from your treatment. Women should start taking this medicine during their menstrual period. The capsules need to be swallowed whole and may be taken with food or water in order to reduce stomach upset. D-Zol Dosage

The D-Zol dosage may vary from one case to another. Your prescriber will decide upon the exact medication dosage by taking into account several factors that are specific to your case; as such, it is best to only take the medication dosage that has been prescribed to you in order for the therapy to yield the best therapeutic effects. You may not use the D-Zol dosage that has been prescribed to another patient.

For endometriosis, the average D-Zol dosage is of 200 to 800 mg daily, in several daily intakes. The therapy course may last for 3 to 9 months. In the case of menorrhagia, the typical prescription is for 200 to 400 mg daily, also divided in several daily intakes. Your response to the therapy determines the therapy duration.

D-Zol Overdose

It is strongly recommended that you do not take higher doses of D-Zol than prescribed. Taking larger quantities of the medicine does not improve the therapeutic effects and may cause an overdose, leading to the appearance of severe side effects. If you believe that you are suffering from an overdose with D-Zol, immediately contact the regional or local poisons center or go to the nearest medical facility. Emergency medical attention may be required.

D-Zol Missed Dose

In case you have forgotten one of your D-Zol intakes, it is strongly suggested to take the pill(s) as soon as you remember that you have neglected them unless another intake of the medicine is almost due. If this is the situation, you are advised to completely skip the missed dose and continue with your regular intake schedule.

D-Zol Side Effects

The most severe side effects that may appear during your therapy with D-Zol include allergic reactions, jaundice, skin photosensitivity, abnormal hair growth, enlarged clitoris, voice deepening or other male-like symptoms. These should be brought to the attention of your personal physician immediately. Apart from these, other symptoms that require immediate medical attention include chest pain, persistent headache, vision problems, breathing difficulties, swelling or pain in the legs, rashes resembling measles often accompanied by diarrhea, fever and headaches or severe bleeding and blistering of the mucous membranes (the inside of the nose or mouth, lips, genitalia).

D-Zol Drug Reactions

You should avoid taking D-Zol if you are also taking Warfarin, Insulin or other diabetes medication, Phenytoin or Carbamazepine (epilepsy medication), blood pressure control drugs, Tacrolimus or Cyclosporin (used for the prevention of the rejection of organ transplants), oral contraceptives or other types of sex hormones.
