Ledercort Information

Ledercort is a drug based on Triamcinolone, a substance that belongs to the steroids category of medication. This drug acts by inhibiting the release of certain substances in the organism, substances that are responsible for the appearance of inflammations.

Ledercort Indications

Ledercort is usually prescribed to patients suffering from certain dermatoses that respond to corticosteroid therapy such as contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, eczematous psoriasis, neurodermatitis, otitis externa etc, but may also be used to treat a number of other medical conditions (for example breathing disorders, allergic disorders or lupus). Ledercort Warnings

Also, you should let him or her know if you are suffering from liver, kidney, thyroid or muscle disorders, or if you have diabetes, tuberculosis, osteoporosis, cataracts or glaucoma, congestive heart failure or hypertension.

Other medical conditions that may affect your therapy with Ledercort include diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, stomach ulcers, herpes infections affecting the eyes or any type of mental illness or depression. These conditions may affect your medication therapy as in some cases your dosage may require special adjustment or medical monitoring may be in order for the duration of the treatment.

Ledercort Intake Guidelines

You should always take Ledercort exactly as it has been prescribed to you by the examining health care professional. He or she will provide you with a number of intake directions at the same time with the exact dosage to be employed, and you should make sure that you closely follow these directions in order for the therapy to yield the best results. Ledercort Dosage

Ledercort Missed Dose

Ledercort Side Effects

The most severe side effects associated with Ledercort usage are allergic reactions, vision problems, rapid weight gain, swelling, breath shortness, bloody coughing or stools, pancreatitis, decreased potassium levels, extreme hypertension, behavior and mood changes, severe depression and convulsions. These require immediate medical assistance and in most cases also determine the immediate discontinuation of the therapy.

Ledercort Drug Reactions

Ledercort may interact with a number of other drugs and medicines including Aspirin, Warfarin or other blood thinning medication, diuretics, seizure medication (e.g. Phenobarbital or Phenytoin), antibiotics such as Rifampin or Ketoconazole, Cyclosporin, and Insulin or other drugs used for the treatment of diabetes.
