MATULANE

Matulane Information

Matulane is a highly potent medication; you may be already familiar with the generic name of this drug – Procarbazine. This product is commonly purchased under its oral form. This clinical product is commonly employed in the therapy of certain types of cancerous disorders. The drug’s leaflet is expected to contain some information concerning the main ingredients of this drug. Read it with great attention.

Matulane Indications

Procarbazine is a widely known substance which has proven its effectiveness against Hodgkin's disease; for this reason, Matulane (a trade name for Procarbazine) is commonly employed in the case of patients who want to effectively manage this clinical condition. The beneficial results of this medication are based on its ability to stop the diseased cells from growing or from forming new cells.

Matulane Warnings

Individuals who present inadequate bone marrow reserve (which has been proven through bone marrow aspiration) should not be allowed to use Matulane. Extra caution concerning the use of this medication should be employed in the case of patients who suffer from thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, or anemia. When you and your main clinical prescriber decide whether you are to use this product on a regular basis or not, you will have to discuss with your PD the risks and benefits which are associated with Matulane-related therapies and you should also review your current clinical condition and your past medical history. Special monitoring may be required in the case of patients with kidney / liver illnesses who are being treated with this chemotherapeutic remedy.

Matulane Intake Guidelines

Matulane is considered a highly potent clinical remedy. However, in some cases, this product can be prescribed along with other clinical remedies. It is imperative for the success of your therapy course with this medication to use this product (and any other adjacent clinical remedies) according to your prescriber’s explanations. Vomiting and nausea can occur during your therapy course with Matulane; despite these unpleasant clinical manifestations, you have to continue using this product until your physician decides that it is safe for you to stop your therapy with Matulane.

If vomiting occurs shortly after you have employed an oral dose of this medication, alert your main clinical prescriber. During your therapy course with this product you should undergo regular blood tests and possibly other medical evaluations as well, which are supposed to enable your PD to constantly monitor the effects of your therapy. It is strictly forbidden to share your pack of this chemotherapy-drug with other patients.

Matulane Dosage

It is your prescriber’s responsibility to advise you concerning the correct amount of Matulane which you are expected to employ during your therapy course with this product in order for your treatment to be considered a full success. However, it is each patient’s responsibility to follow their PD’s directions, without disobeying them in any way. Only the use of the appropriate dose of Matulane will grant you the expected beneficial results.

Matulane Overdose

The common clinical manifestations that may appear in case a certain individual overdoses with Matulane are strongly related to the adverse side effects of this product. This clinical condition is considered a medical emergency; therefore, individuals in such a situation should receive the needed supportive / symptomatic therapy as soon as possible. Your PD can further instruct you concerning what to do in case you have been exposed to a mega dose of Matulane.

Matulane Missed Dose

Neglecting your therapy course with Matulane on a regular basis will severely alter the success of your treatment with this medication. Missed doses of this product and any other disruptions of your therapy should be dealt with as soon as possible, in a professional way. Replacing your missed dose as rapidly as you can is recommended. However, resume your current dosing routine in case you are expected to employ a new dose of this product soon enough. The use of double-doses of Matulane will not help you “catch up” and, therefore, are not recommended.
