Cutivate Information

Cutivate is a common topical steroid; in other words, this medical product is commonly employed in the therapy of several medical conditions of the skin. The use of this remedy can reduce the actions of certain chemicals that are known to be responsible for the development of the following clinical manifestations: swelling, redness, inflammation, and so on.

Cutivate Indications

Numerous patients from all over the world who were using Cutivate in order to deal with itching and / or inflammation caused by psoriasis, eczema, allergic reactions, or any other similar medical disorders were more than satisfied with the results of their therapy.

Cutivate Warnings

Patients who are allergic to Cutivate should not be allowed to start using this medication. As this drug is a category C remedy, it should not be prescribed to pregnant females. We do not know yet if the ingredients of this drug are able to pass into the pregnant female’s breast milk. Nursing mothers should discontinue breast feeding their babies while they are using this topical steroid. The administration of this product to children can lead to the development of a set of unwanted clinical manifestations (growth disturbances).

Cutivate Intake Guidelines

After you apply the adequate amount of Cutivate on the affected area, you should wait for the medication to dry before washing it away. It is forbidden to cover the affected skin area with any type of medical covering after a dose of this topical steroid has been applied. If you develop symptoms similar to those of a viral, fungal or bacterial infectious condition of the skin, discontinue using this medicine and seek professional medical assistance.

Only the regular use of Cutivate doses will ensure that you will be granted a set of beneficial effects from your therapy with this medication. Patients who are to follow a long term treatment with this product should undergo regular medical evaluations (especially blood tests) in order to avoid the development of harmful complications.

If a patient who is currently using Cutivate (in any of its known forms) is to undergo a certain surgical procedure, he or she should alert the surgeon that they are using this topical steroid, at least a couple of weeks in advance (before the operation). You may have to discontinue using this medication for a short period of time (a couple of days before and a couple of days after your surgical intervention).

Cutivate Dosage

Adult individuals should be encouraged to use a thin film / layer of this topical steroid (either the Cutivate ointment, or the cream) on the inflamed / itchy area. This process should be repeated up to 2 times per day. If no noticeable improvement arises within the first 14 days of therapy, the patient should discontinue using this medication and seek medical assistance.

Children over 3 months can be prescribed a therapy with this product - Cutivate cream, provided that their treatment with this medication is constantly supervised by a well trained pediatrician. However, such patients should not use this medical product for more than a month. Several, unwanted complications may arise. Children should not be prescribed a therapy with the Cutivate ointment.

Cutivate Overdose

All individuals who suspect that they developed an overdose with Cutivate should seek immediate clinical attention. The use of abnormally high doses of this medical product will determine the developing of several, unpleasant (and potentially severe) clinical manifestations. Although the symptoms of such a medical condition can be quite disturbing, they are not expected to be life-threatening manifestations. A long-term overdose with Cutivate may determine the following clinical signs: easy bruising, thinning of the skin, increased facial hair, acne, menstrual problems, loss of interest in sex, impotence, etc.

Cutivate Missed Dose

Missed doses of this medication are known to decrease the effectiveness of your therapy with Cutivate. For this reason, we recommend all patients to avoid neglecting their prescribed doses of this clinical remedy (topical steroid). Taking this product at the same time each day may enhance the beneficial results of your therapy and may help your remember to take each and every dose of Cutivate.

Cutivate Side Effects

An improper use of the patient’s prescribed doses of this medication, or a prolonged use of Cutivate is known to increase the individual’s chances of developing an unwanted allergic reaction to this medication. The symptoms of such a medical condition include: swelling of the throat, lips, face, and so on, hives, rash, urticaria, skin redness, breathing difficulties, etc. In case you experience any of these clinical manifestations, you should discontinue using Cutivate and seek emergency medical attention. The same advice goes for patients who present signs of absorbing this topical steroid through the skin: insomnia, mood changes, weight gain, tiredness, muscle weakness, and so on.

A long term treatment with this steroid may also determine the presence of other, less severe clinical manifestations that are widespread among patients of all ages who are using Cutivate. They are: headaches, mild changes of skin color, softening of the skin, thinning of the skin, swollen hair follicles, stretch marks, pimples, blisters, and so on.

Cutivate Drug Reactions

All individuals who are following a therapy with Cutivate should know that their risk of experiencing an unwanted, harmful interaction between their topical steroid and any other injectable or oral clinical remedy is very small. However, in order to ensure a safe and effective experience with this medication, we advise all patients to avoid the use of any medical product that has not been directly authorized by the individual’s health care provider, during their therapy with Cutivate.
