If you experience any of these symptoms, you may be experiencing overdose. Seek immediate medical attention or call poison control. Inform your doctor afterwards.

Imodium Missed Dose

Imodium may be taken on a regular schedule or only as needed. If taken only during diarrhea, missing doses is not an issue. If Imodium is taken on a regular schedule, doses of Imodium should not be missed. If a dose is missed, however, take it as soon as remembered. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and take the subsequent doses according to schedule. Do not take double doses of Imodium unless otherwise directed by your doctor.

Imodium Side Effects

Imodium may have any of the following serious side effects and allergic reactions:

• Difficulty in breathing
• Closing of the throat
• Swelling of the lips, tongue or face
• Hives
• Development of a fever
• Persistent diarrhea
• Blood or mucus in the stool

If you experience any of these, discontinue use of Imodium and inform your doctor.

Imodium may also have less serious side effects that are more likely to occur. They include the following:

• Abdominal pain, distention, or discomfort
• Nausea or vomiting
• Constipation
• Tiredness
• Drowsiness or dizziness
• Dry mouth

If you experience any of these, continue using Imodium but inform your doctor immediately.

Other side effects may also occur when you take Imodium. Inform your doctor if you experience anything unusual while or after taking Imodium.

Imodium Drug Reactions

It is unknown whether other drugs may interact with Imodium. Inform your doctor if you are taking any medications other than Imodium including over the counter prescriptions such as vitamins, minerals and even herbal products.
