Kestine is an H1 histamine receptor antagonist and is used for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticarial. Kestine is available in tablet form, fast dissolving tablet and syrup. Kestine Indications

This medication may be taken with food or without food.

Kestine Dosage

Depending what you are taken this mediation for as to what the dosage is; allergic rhinitis the dosage is one 10mg tablet per day and for urticaria the dosage is one 10mg tablet per day. 20 mg dosage is available depending on the severity of your condition.

Kestine Overdose

Overdose is unlikely; if it should occur seek emergency care. Although there is not certain antidote for an overdose on this medication, gastric lavage and treatment of symptoms should be carried out as soon as possible.

Kestine Missed Dose

Do not double your dose; take the next scheduled dose as directed.

Kestine Side effects

The most common effects are; dry mouth, headache and drowsiness. Other side effects include stomach pain, nausea, insomnia, pharyngitis. In addition, dyspepsia, asthenia, epistaxis, nausea, sinusitis and insomnia can occur. Side effects are known to vary from patient to patient.

Kestine Drug Reactions

The kinetics of theophylline, cimetidine, warfarin, diazepam or alcohol does not mix well with this medication. Diazepam and alcohol can enhance the sedation effect; therefore, driving while taking this medication is not recommended. In addition, any depressants of the central nervous system can compound the sedation effects as well. This product should be stored below 25C. Like all medication it should be kept out of reach of children.
