Aceon belongs to the class of drugs named angiotensin-converting-enzymes inhibitors or ACE inhibitors.

Aceon Indications

This drug is primarily used to lower high blood pressure but it may also be used for other purposes.

Aceon Warnings

Aceon is not advisable if the following health conditions apply to you:

• Kidney disease
• Liver disease
• Diabetes
• Scleroderma or lupus
• Heart disease or have had a stroke
• High levels of potassium in the blood

Inform you doctor about these. He may not allow you to take the drug or he may simply adjust your dosage.

Aceon may heighten the risk of dangerous allergic reactions. This drug also belongs to the FDA pregnancy Category D that means that it can harm an unborn baby. Do not take this drug if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. Aceon may also cause dizziness or drowsiness.

Aceon Intake Guidelines

You should take this drug exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you fail to understand anything, ask your pharmacist or a nurse to help you. Aceon should be taken with a full glass of water. It may be taken with or without food. Do not abruptly stop taking this prescription without first consulting your doctor. Your condition may worsen if you suddenly do so.

• Fainting
• Weakness
• Fatigue

Aceon Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Aceon as soon as you remember but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the subsequent dose as scheduled. It is important to remember never to take a double dose of this product.

Aceon Side Effects

Aceon may cause serious side effects and allergic reactions, which may include any of the following:

• Difficulty breathing
• Closing of throat
• Swelling of the face, lips, and tongue
• Hives
• Little or no urine
• Chest pain
• Irregular heartbeat or changes in heartbeat
• Dizziness or fainting
• Signs of infection

If you experience any of these, temporarily stop taking Aceon and talk to your doctor immediately.

Aceon may also cause less serious side effects which include:

• Headache, dizziness and lightheadedness
• Fatigue
• Dry, tickling cough
• Weakness, numbness or tingling in the arms, legs or feet
• Nausea
• Taste disturbances
• Itching, rash or increased sweating

Continue to take the product and talk to your doctor if you experience any of these less serious side effects.

Other unknown side effects may also occur so inform your doctor if you experience anything unusual after taking Aceon.

Aceon Drug Reactions

Other drugs may interact with Aceon. They include:

• Potassium supplements
• Salt substitutes that contain potassium
• Any of the diuretics triamterene, spironolactone, or amiloride
• Any other diuretic such as hydrochlorothriazide, furosemide, bumetanide, indapamide and others
• Lithium
• Digoxin
• Indomethacin
• Heparin
• Cyclosporine

Your doctor may not allow you to take the drug, or he may adjust your dosage if you are taking the above-mentioned drugs.

Other drugs may also react with Aceon, so inform you doctor if you are taking other drugs.
