Maxalt is a popular medicine that is known to effectively decrease the widening of the patient’s blood vessels. Maxalt Warnings

Maxalt is not recommended in the case of patients who are suffering from any of these medical conditions:

• high blood pressure

Maxalt is also not suited if you have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) inhibitors such as any of the following drugs within the last two weeks:

• moclobemide
• phenelzine
• tranylcypromine
• pargyline

Under these circumstances, you might not be allowed to start to follow a treatment with this medicine, or you might have to be given a lower dose of this drug. Your physician should also carefully monitor your treatment with this drug (Maxalt) to see if it does not cause more harm to your initial medical condition.

You should avoid using this medicine if:

• the cap’s seal was broken when you bought the medicine
• the medicine has expired
• the package or the bottle shows tampering signs

It has not been clearly determined whether a treatment with this medicine during pregnancy could have harmful effects on a growing fetus or not. If you are pregnant, or if you think that you might become pregnant any time soon, you should ask your personal physician if it is recommended for you to start taking this medicine. It has not been clearly established whether Maxalt’s main ingredients are able to pass into breast milk or not. You must not start taking this medicine without your personal physician’s approval if you are currently breastfeeding an infant.

Maxalt Intake Guidelines

Follow each and every one of the advices and recommendations that your doctor has given you regarding your treatment with Maxalt (do not deviate from any of them). Each dose of this medicine should be accompanied by a large glass of water (about 8 ounces of liquid). You may take this medicine either on a full or on an empty stomach. Ask your doctor to calculate the dose of Maxalt that suits you best. Maxalt Overdose

Maxalt Missed Dose

Since this medicine is only taken in when it is needed (during a severe migraine attack), a missed dose of Maxalt is highly unlikely to be experienced by anyone.

Maxalt Side Effects

A prolonged treatment with Maxalt is known to sometimes trigger some of these allergic reactions and side effects:

• dizziness
• tiredness or sleepiness
• decreased mental alertness and sharpness
• inability to sleep properly (insomnia)
• vomiting, nausea, sickness
• nervousness
• diarrhea
• stomach pain or stomach upset 
• abnormal thirst
• blurred vision
• bad taste
• dry mouth
• throat discomfort
• flushing or redness of the face
• skin itching or rash
• severe skin sloughing
• sweating or hot flushes

In case you find yourself experiencing any of the side effects that have been listed here, you may continue taking this medicine (when you need it) but you should alert your personal physician as soon as possible. Other side effects may also occur when you take Maxalt. You should inform your personal physician immediately if you experience anything unusual or bothersome while taking this drug.

Maxalt Drug Reactions

Maxalt is a medicine that can harmfully interact with any of the following medicines:

• propranolol
• monoamine oxidase inhibitors (drugs that are regularly used in the treatment of depression), such as tranylcypromine, moclobemide, phenelzine, pargyline (only in Australia)
• ergotamine
• sumatriptan
• methysergide

Ask your personal physician if it is safe to start taking other medicines while you are treated with this product.
