Older adults— If an elderly patient is following a treatment with Nepro, he or she is risking to develop several problems that are triggered by the use of a nasogastric tube (a tube that goes through the nose and then into the patient’s stomach).

Other medical problems— If you are suffering from other medical conditions, you might not be allowed to start taking Nepro, or you might have to use a lower dose of this medicine. Nepro Intake Guidelines

Ask your personal doctor how and when you should use Nepro. You must not disobey any of the instructions that your personal physician has given you. You can also rely on the instructions that should be written on the drug’s label. If you fail to understand some of them, you can ask a doctor, a pharmacist or a nurse. Your enteral feeding will probably be given by a feeding tube or by mouth.

In the case of patients who are using the oral liquid form of Nepro:

• This medicine is in ready-to-use form. You need not dilute it (unless your personal physician has advised you to).
• You should shake the medicine well before you open it. After you have opened it, refrigerate it. Most formulas may be stored in the refrigerator for 2 days after they have been opened. Make sure that the medicine is away from the reach of children and pets (in order to avoid poisoning).

In the case of patients who are using the powder form of this medicine:

• You should carefully read the instructions on the medicine’s package for information regarding mixing or any other uses of the powder.
• The unused solution (powder) should be kept in a cool place (such as the refrigerator) for up to 2 days after they have been opened. Make sure that the medicine is away from the reach of children and pets.

Storage of an unopened container:

• Keep it in a place that is out of the reach of pets and children.
• Keep it away from heat and direct sunlight.
• Avoid storing it in the bathroom, or anywhere near the kitchen sink. Moisture and heat are known to cause the Nepro amount to break down.
• Avoid letting this medicine to freeze. Do not keep it in the refrigerator unless you have already opened or mixed it.
