Teveten Information

Teveten is a popular medical product that is more likely known as Eprosartan. This medicine belongs to a wide class of medical products named angiotensin II receptor antagonists. A treatment with this medicine is known to effectively prevent the narrowing (constriction) of the patient’s blood vessels (arteries and also veins). Eprosartan is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure).

Do not use this medicine (Teveten) without your personal physician’s direct approval if you are pregnant or if you are currently nursing an infant, as the intake of this medical product could cause death and injury of the growing fetus. During your treatment with this medical product you should employ extra caution and care when operating machinery, driving, or performing any other type of hazardous activities, as an intake of this drug could trigger drowsiness and / or dizziness.

Before you start to follow a treatment with Teveten you should alert your personal health care specialist if you:

• are suffering from kidney disease;
• are suffering from liver disease;
• are currently following a salt-restricted diet or if you are known to have abnormally high levels of blood potassium.

Teveten Intake Guidelines

Each patient should ask their personal health care specialist to give them a set of precise instructions regarding their future intake of this medical product (Teveten). You must not disobey any of the instructions or directions that your personal physician has prescribed you. If you somehow did not completely understand some of the directions that your personal health care provider has given you, we strongly advise you to ask a nurse or a pharmacist for further and more detailed explanations. Each dose of Teveten should be accompanied by a full glass of liquid (juice or water). Avoid crushing, breaking or chewing a tablet of this medicine as you should take it as a whole. A treatment with this medicine works in time (in some cases, its benefic effects are seen only after weeks of intake). Do not stop using Teveten without first consulting it with your personal health care specialist, as this could trigger severe effects. In order to get the most benefits from your intake of this medical product you should use your doses of this drug on a regular basis (if possible, at equal time intervals). During your treatment with Teveten, your physician will probably ask you to undergo regular medical exams (especially blood tests) in order for your personal doctor to monitor the treatment’s effects.

Teveten Dosage

The dosage of Teveten that you take should be set by your personal physician. You must not take a higher dose than the one that he or she has told you to as this could trigger overdose. You should not take a smaller dosage of the medicine / drug either: Take the exact dosage that the doctor has prescribed you.

Teveten Overdose

If you suspect having taken a Teveten overdose you should contact your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital.  Although we have no detailed information about the most common symptoms that could be triggered by such a medical condition, a patient who is suffering from overdose with this medical product will most likely experience weakness, dizziness, fatigue, fainting, and sometimes even chest pain.

Teveten Missed Dose

It is not recommended that you miss your regular Teveten doses. If you miss one, you should use your dose of Teveten as soon as possible. If it is about time for another dose, skip the one that you have missed and continue your normal dosing program. You should not use a double dose of the drug unless your personal doctor directly advises you to.

Teveten Side Effects

Following a Teveten treatment may lead to the appearance of several side effects such as:

• upset stomach or diarrhea,
• muscle cramps or muscle pain,
• dizziness,
• swelling,
• insomnia,
• headache,
• cough or congestion (these are the rarest of all side effects).

There are other side effects, besides those listed here, which have been associated with long-term use of Teveten. Ask your personal physician for more information. Be sure to alert your doctor if you develop anything unusual while using this medicine.

Teveten Drug Reactions

Your Teveten treatment may not get along very well with other drugs that are available in pharmacies. Moreover, if Teveten happens to be combined with these drugs it can lead to several extremely dangerous effects, also decreasing Teveten’s effectiveness. Avoid using:

• potassium supplements like K-Dur, Klor-Con, and so on;
• potassium-sparing water pills (diuretics) such as spironolactone (Aldactone), amiloride (Midamor), or triamterene (Dyazide, Dyrenium, Maxzide);
• any sort of salt substitutes.

Because some other drugs that have not been listed here are known to also interact with this medical product in a dangerous way, it is advisable to inform your doctor of any other drugs that you are taking during your treatment with this drug.
