Arthrotec Information

Arthrotec is generically known as Diclofenac-Misoprostol. It is a drug belonging to the category of drugs known as NSAIDs or Non Steroidal Anti-inflammatory drugs. Arthrotec works by reducing the amount of chemicals that are the causes of pain in the body.

Arthrotec Intake Guidelines

Arthrotec must never be crushed or chewed. It must be swallowed whole and downed with a full glass of water.

Arthrotec is a stomach irritant. Take Arthrotec after meals or with a glass of milk to lessen stomach upsets.

Arthrotec Overdose

Symptoms of Arthrotec overdose include:

Vomiting
Stomach pains
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Drowsiness
Tremors
Headache
Blurred vision
Ringing in the ears
Seizures
Excessive sweating
Numbness and pain
Little or no urine excretion
Irregular heartbeats
Slow and labored breathing
Nausea

If these symptoms are present and overdose is suspected, immediately seek emergency medical attention.

Arthrotec Missed Dose

Never take double doses of this medication. If you happen to miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember provided that it is not yet near the time for the next dose. However, if it is already near the time for the next dose, you may entirely skip the dose you missed and proceed with the next scheduled one.

Other drugs may not work well with Arthrotec and always inform your doctor of the recent medicines you have taken and the medicines that you are currently taking such as:

an angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE) inhibitor such as benazepril (Lotensin), captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), fosinopril (Monopril), lisinopril (Prinivil, Zestril), moexipril (Univasc), Quinapril (Accupril), or Ramipril (Altace)
aspirin or another salicylate (form of aspirin) such as salsalate (Disalcid), bismuth subsalicylate (Pepto-Bismol), choline salicylate, or magnesium salicylate (watch the aspirin content of other over-the-counter products such as cough, cold, and allergy medicines)
tacrolimus (Prograf)
